Project
Master Planned Gigawatt Scale Data Center Community
Client Name: Confidential (Tech Space)
Project Description: Developing a cutting edge project involving a 2,100-acre gigawatt-scale, master-planned datacenter community to meet the needs of various data center operators, including hyperscalers and colocation service providers. The construction project involves installing necessary power distribution and underground power ducts, water and sewer pump stations and piping, underground fiber distribution ducts, roads, entryways, and various environmental projects. A significant feature of the data center campus is the construction of a massive hyperscale fiber ring, linking the major East Coast data center community.
Total Project Cost: $50M to $75M (Approx.)
Project Role: Owner’s Project Controls Consultant & Data Analytics Consultant:
Created and managed resource and cost loaded project baseline schedule, baseline budget, project financials, executive reporting, and data analytics of construction program.
Project Outcome: Introducing a daily progress tracking system was essential for understanding project performance dynamics. By consistently updating the schedule and comparing it to the original plan, we gained valuable insights into project dynamics and identified areas for improvement. Thoroughly reviewing construction documents also enabled us to spot errors or discrepancies, allowing us to take swift corrective action.
By implementing effective strategies, we successfully got the project back on track. Our newly developed system became a valuable tool for project management. Additionally, we established a robust reporting structure to keep management updated on the project’s ongoing progress.
